Moving Freely Should Never Be a Barrier

For many people in our community, the entrance to their own home is an obstacle. A flight of steps. A threshold too high to clear. A door too narrow for a wheelchair or walker. These aren't small inconveniences — they affect independence, dignity, and daily quality of life.

Raybrook Homes donates time and materials to build accessible ramps for community members who need them and can't otherwise afford them. It's one of the most direct ways we know to make a difference.

How the Program Works

We partner with local nonprofits, social service organizations, and community members to identify individuals who need accessible entry to their homes. When a need is confirmed and a project is feasible, our team donates the design, materials, and labor to build a safe, code-compliant ramp.

The work is done with the same care we bring to every project. A ramp that's well-built is one that's safe, durable, and doesn't require ongoing repair. We build them to last.

What a Ramp Actually Changes

It's easy to underestimate what accessible entry means to someone who's been without it. The ability to leave your home independently. To come and go without needing help. To not feel like your home is working against you.

We've seen the difference it makes, and it's a reminder of why this work matters beyond the projects that generate revenue. Sometimes the most important thing a builder can do is a ramp.

How to Request or Refer

If you or someone you know needs an accessible ramp and can't afford to have one installed, reach out to us. We'll have a conversation about the situation, assess feasibility, and let you know how we can help. We can't say yes to every request, but we take each one seriously and do our best to connect people with the right resources when we can't help directly.
